Rangers defender Borna Barisic may receive the chance to swap Ibrox for the Premier League in the January transfer window, that the Gers may target Josh Doig should the Croatian move on.
Watford are interested in bolstering their options at left-back next month. It was reported earlier this week that the Hornets are keen on Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac.

The Athletic also suggests that Kolasinac is on their radar. However, they also claim that Barisic is a player that they have now shown initial interest in.
But there may a problem for Claudio Ranieri’s men. that Rangers would want up to £8 million for the 29-year-old. And that asking price is said to be prohibitive. The report notes that Doig would be a cheaper alternative for Watford.

Interestingly, it is also suggested that Doig would come onto Rangers’ radar should Barisic leave Ibrox. His asking price is said to be up to £3 million.
Rangers fans may not be convinced about potential idea of replacing Borna Barisic with Josh Doig
Barisic has not been at his best this season. But he has previously proved that he can bounce back from poor spells at Ibrox. Like several of his teammates, he was outstanding last term.
And it is arguably a similar story for Doig at Hibernian. Like Barisic, he has just one assist in the Scottish Premiership this term. Neither have scored a goal.
It was actually Doig who pipped Barisic to the last term. But a look at the responses will tell you that that decision did not go down well at all with Rangers fans. Of course, Barisic helped Rangers clinch the title.
So they may not be too happy about the idea of replacing Barisic with Doig should the former leave.
