Report: Naby Keita took decision to miss Liverpool vs Sheffield United
Naby Keita’s absence for Liverpool against Sheffield United had some people confused after he featured against MK Dons in midweek.
The Guinean midfielder did not travel to Bramall Lane, despite returning to the first-team to play 63 minutes against the League One side.
, Keita’s ‘omission’ from the squad to face the Blades was actually a decision he took himself.

The 24-year-old chose to stay behind at Melwood in order to work on his fitness, but will likely have some involvement against RB Salzburg on Wednesday.
That will be something of a relief to some Liverpool fans who feared Keita had aggravatedthe muscle injury that has been troubling him.
Liverpool managed to claim all three points without Keita’s help, although the Reds did struggle against the home side who could easily have gotten a point against the league leaders.
TBR’s view
Keita was probably right to miss Saturday’s game.

Given his apparent fragility, perhaps it was the most sensible decision to stay behind and not risk any aggravation.
Big things are expected of Keita in his second season after a tough debut campaign in which he showed glimpses of his brilliant ability.
It is important that he is managed carefully and risks should not to be taken.
