Report: Moussa Sissoko could leave Spurs for Middle East

Spurs could see another player leave for the Middle East this summer that Moussa Sissoko could follow Toby Alderweireld out of North London.

Alderweireld’s six-year stay with Spurs came to an end this week. As noted by The Times, the Belgian has joined Al-Duhail in a deal worth £13 million.

It is a move that most Tottenham fans feel somewhat conflicted about. Alderweireld was arguably one of the world’s best defenders at his peak.

However, the 32-year-old has not been at his best for some time. Like many of the Tottenham defenders, he really struggled last season.

So getting an eight-figure fee for Alderweireld has largely been deemed a success for Fabio Paratici.

And perhaps Paratici may soon get the opportunity to offload another long-serving member of the squad.

, Sissoko could soon follow Alderweireld to the Middle East. It is not clear which club the Frenchman could potentially join.

Spurs must cash in if significant bid for Sissoko is made amid Middle East links

Sissoko’s time with Tottenham has been a lot more turbulent. The 31-year-old initially looked destined to be a huge flop. He really struggled following .

However, Mauricio Pochettino kept faith in him. And he started to turn his fortunes around.

But he has been a lot less influential in more recent times. He only started 15 times in the Premier League last season.

He is reportedly on £80,000-a-week, . So moving his wages off the books would hand Paratici a big boost ahead of the final weeks of the window.

And if they receive a significant offer from a Middle East side in the near future, it would be no surprise if Tottenham decided that the time was right to let him go.
