Report: Mourinho wants new contract drawn up for Spurs player with uncertain future
Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho reportedly wants a new contract for Serge Aurier despite Spurs seemingly looking to part ways with the full-back, according to .
Aurier moved to Tottenham in 2017 from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth around £23million, with the full-back having clocked up 74 appearances for the Lilywhites in all competitions.
The Ivory Coast international’s time at N17 hasn’t been without criticism though, both on the pitch and off the pitch.
Last month, that Spurs were willing to sell Aurier this summer, as the club were said to be frustrated with him breaching protocol amid the global health crisis.
However, now claims that Mourinho wants to give the player a new contract, his existing deal expiring in the summer of 2022.
According to Italian outlet , fallen Serie A giants AC Milan are eyeing Aurier with a view to a potential summer move.

Aurier may have had his fair share of critics with regards to some of his performances as well as off-the-pitch incidents like the one above, but Mourinho hasn’t exactly got an abundance of right-backs at his disposal.
Kieran Trippier departed Spurs last summer, while Kyle Walker-Phillips left on loan in January and his future remains in doubt, which leaves Aurier as the sole senior right-back – though Juan Foyth can also cover in that position.
Given current events, the football industry is likely to take a huge financial hit, which could limit how much clubs can spend in the next few transfer windows – therefore, ensuring that Aurier remains available for Mourinho in the long-term seems like a fairly logical approach to take.
