Report: Mourinho to hold talks with Wolves player this week; think he’ll be easier to sign than Spurs star

Roma are set to hold fresh talks with Rui Patricio over the coming days, that signing Wolves star could be easier for Jose Mourinho than landing Spurs captain Hugo Lloris.

Mourinho is continuing to be linked with a host of players from the Premier League. It was reported over the weekend that Lloris was his top goalkeeper target.

However, it appears that the Giallorossi are considering other options.

Calciomercato. It also suggest that Roma want Lloris. But it seems that they are pressing ahead in their pursuit of another target.

According to the report, talks over a move for Patricio are imminent. It is noted that the Wolves stopper wants his future resolved as soon as possible.

that the 33-year-old is a cheaper option than Lloris. It is also claimed that he is open to moving to the Italian capital.

Spurs should look to keep Lloris for another year amid Mourinho interest

Spurs already have a lot of work to do this summer. The club are yet to appoint a new manager. They must also resolve Harry Kane’s future.

So having to replace Lloris in this window would not be ideal. Admittedly, the 34-year-old has not been as impressive at times over the last couple of years.

However, he was one of their better players in the final weeks of this past season.

It is not ideal to keep him for one more year either. His contract expires next summer. And he has reportedly rejected fresh terms.

But they are unlikely to get a huge fee for Lloris this summer anyway. So perhaps they would be better off keeping him and taking the risk that he leaves for nothing next year.

If that is how Spurs feel, they may welcome the news that Roma look to be pressing ahead with a move for Patricio.
