Report: Mourinho and Levy to discuss futures of £80k-a-week Spurs man and 27-year-old teammate
Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho and chairman Daniel Levy are likely to discuss the futures of Spurs duo Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier soon, according to the .
The outlet claims that Levy has an unwritten rule in that he doesn’t allow players to enter the final two years of their contracts to avoid the risk of losing them on free transfers.
Lamela and Aurier are both contracted to Tottenham until 2022, and as such, Levy and Mourinho are reportedly expected to talk about their futures at the club.
The also claims there’s no indication yet that extensions are imminent for either player, in comparison to Son Heung-min, who’s said to be in line for a new deal.
Lamela, 28, and Aurier, 27, have both featured on numerous occasions for Spurs this term, albeit as rotation players.
The Argentine midfielder has featured in all competitions – though just three appearances were starts – and has scored twice.
The Ivory Coast right-back, meanwhile, has started four games in all competitions and has a goal and an assist to his name.

Although Lamela has been with Spurs since 2013 and has made over 200 appearances, injury problems have hampered the £ man’s time in North London, and some have criticised his lack of end product.
As for Aurier, his qualities going forward have often been lauded but he has sometimes been slated for his defensive capabilities, and with Matt Doherty now at Spurs, the £ man has tough competition.
Both players have been good options for Mourinho this season but it remains to be seen whether the Spurs chairman and manager see them as long-term options beyond 2022.
