Report: Mourinho gifts West Ham boost in race to sign Belotti
According to , West Ham United have taken the lead in the race to sign sought-after striker Andrea Bellotti this summer.
The Hammers are expected to be well-positioned to acquire the 27-year-old frontman’s services at the end of the season, should David Moyes secure a Europa League berth for the east London outfit.
Belotti had seemed destined to leave Torino for Serie A rivals AS Roma, but the announcement of Jose Mourinho as the Giallorossi’s next head coach instead of Maurizio Sarri has distanced the Stadio Olimpico outfit from a deal.
Mourinho does not place Belotti near to the top of his shortlist of potential targets, despite Tottenham Hotspur being one of several Premier League sides () to have recently been linked with the £68,000-per-week machine ().
Belotti’s long-term future in Turin has been shadowed with doubt over the past few months, as the Italy international is expected to be made available for €35million (£30.3m) as he will have just one year remaining on his contract come June ().

Mourinho agreeing to become Roma’s next head coach on a seems set to hand West Ham an unlikely boost in their search for offensive reinforcements, and will be glad to see their name rise to the top of the pile in line with Roma falling to the sides.
A deal for the Irons to add Belotti to Moyes’ arsenal is bound to raise the level of talent on offer at the London Stadium, where Michail Antonio is currently the only recognised centre striker following Sebastien Haller’s departure in January.
Belotti is described by his manager Davide Nicola as a “unique” weapon () for what he brings to the Toro attack, for whom he has scored for in 31 Serie A appearances this term.
