Report: Monaco considering offer for West Ham ace Sebastien Haller

West Ham United striker Sebastien Haller has emerged as a transfer target for Monaco,

The target man checked in at the London Stadium from Eintracht Frankfurt for a club-record £45 million last summer .

Haller arrived in East London with a big reputation; having scored 20 goals in 41 appearances during the 2018/19 Bundesliga campaign.

The 26-year-old has endured a pretty difficult maiden Premier League season, scoring just seven times for the Hammers.

The former France under-21 international has been a peripheral figure under David Moyes and could be offloaded.

Finances might be tight during the summer but selling Haller could certainly boost Moyes’ kitty for his own recruitment plans.

The report claims that Monaco are preparing for the departure of Wissam Ben Yedder and suggest West Ham want to recoup £36 million for their talisman.

The Hammers would hope to sign a replacement, although Michail Antonio has done a decent job of playing as a lone striker since the restart.

TBR View – Selling Haller does make sense for Hammers

It doesn’t seem that the West Ham owners will be heavily backing the club during the transfer window.

With that in mind, Moyes could look to force their hand somewhat and cash in on a player with significant value.

If Monaco are forthcoming with an offer then the Hammers would be wise to seriously consider a deal.

Haller has done okay during his first Premier League season but he’s hardly set the division alight.

Moyes has a track record of being shrews in the market and could probably add two or three players for the money he picks up for the big striker.
