Report: Mohamed Elneny open to leaving Arsenal

Mohamed Elneny is open to leaving Arsenal, that he is set to remain at the Emirates until his deal expires next summer.

Elneny has had a mixed time with the Gunners. It appeared that the writing was on the wall for the 29-year-old at Arsenal when he was loaned out to Besiktas in 2019.

However, he returned to the fold at the start of last season. But, despite impressing at times – his display in the win at Old Trafford was colossal – it quickly became apparent that Arsenal needed better options.

Elneny is rarely going to take a game by the scruff of the neck. He is not particularly progressive when in possession.

And with Albert Sambi Lokonga coming in, some may have expected Elneny to move on – particularly with his deal up next summer.

The time looks to be right for Elneny to move on. But while he remains at the club, fans may perhaps hold out some fear that Arsenal may yet to attempt to agree an extension.
