Report: Middlesbrough set to sign Sheffield United playmaker Ravel Morrison
has claimed (Friday, 09:21) that Championship side Middlesbrough are set to complete the signing of Sheffield United playmaker Ravel Morrison on deadline day.
Morrison, 26, joined Sheffield United in the summer after a spell in Mexico and then in Sweden with Ostersunds. The former West Ham United, Birmingham City and QPR midfielder has managed just four appearances.
A former England youth international, Morrison was touted to go onto big things – playing alongside the likes of Paul Pogba in Manchester United’s youth sides. His career has gone downhill, but he will look to resurrect things at the Riverside.
The report does not state whether a deal is on loan or a permanent move, but Morrison’s contract at Sheffield United does expire at the end of the 2019-20 campaign. He can play in central midfield, in the 10 role or out wide.

TBR’s view – Woodgate looking to add flair to Middlesbrough side
Having already signed Paddy Roberts from Manchester City on loan until the end of the season, it is clear that Jonathan Woodgate is looking to bring in some flair in order to push his Boro side from the bottom half – into play-off contention.
Morrison has plenty of experience in the Championship – clocking up 55 appearances in England’s second tier. He has scored nine goals and created five more and if Woodgate can get the best out of him, Morrison could be an inspired signing.
