Report: Marseille show interest in Tottenham player Juan Foyth; Villarreal in pole position
Tottenham defender Juan Foyth looks set to leave the club this summer, with Marseille the latest club to emerge as an interested party ahead of the transfer window.Â
, the Ligue 1 outfit are keen to snare the 23-year-old from the clutches of Villarreal where he has spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan.
The does suggest, however, that the La Liga outfit are in pole position for his signature. They hold an option to sign the player for £15 million at the end of his loan spell.

Foyth helped Villarreal knock Arsenal out of the Europa League recently and will hope to shake off a hamstring injury to play in the final against Manchester United.
The Tottenham-owned player has scored once and claimed two assists during 2020/21, playing 31 times for the Spanish outfit.
Foyth has showcased an ability to play in a number of positions and perhaps some supporters would rather he was given a Spurs chance.
He has made just 32 appearances for Tottenham and will go into the final two years of his contract during the summer.
Spurs have their own desires to sign a defender this summer but they are likely to clear out some of the current crop first.
As a result, offloading the Argentine seems to make perfect sense if suitors are forthcoming.
TBR View: Selling Foyth makes sense to Tottenham
There is an argument to suggest that perhaps the club could have sold the international defender last summer.

It seems clear that he’s not going to settle in the Premier League and his days at Spurs do look numbered.
Now Villarreal have a decision to make. With Marseille set to show their hand, the Spaniards will have to put up or risk losing him to another club.
For Tottenham, the funds raised can go on a quality defender and a sale makes perfect sense.
