that the meeting between the two was not concerning a potential move to the London Stadium.

In fact, the report suggests that Fellaini could ultimately extend his contract with Shandong Luneng, with a two-year deal apparently on the table.

TBR View – West Ham fans may be relieved

Although West Ham fans may be hoping for January signings, they may be largely relieved that Fellaini is seemingly set to stay where he is.

The 32-year-old struggled at Manchester United. He arguably became somewhat synonymous with only being United’s last throw of the dice. And his introductions into games often saw the club adopt a very direct style of football that was not always easy on the eye.

In fairness, he may have been a player capable of making the immediate impact that helps lead the Hammers away from the bottom three in the Premier League.

But it would have arguably been a big gamble to make a move. So it would be no surprise if plenty of Hammers fans were pleased that a deal was not discussed.
