Report: Marcelo Bielsa has ‘specifically requested’ Leeds sign 14-goal striker, £18m price tag

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly requested for the Whites to sign Stuttgart forward Nicolas Gonzalez, according to Italian outlet .

The Elland Road side is back in the Premier League after 16 long years out, and as such, a good transfer window will help Bielsa’s side hit the ground running in the top flight.

Gonzalez has been in great form over the past 12 months, helping Stuttgart gain promotion back to the Bundesliga thanks to in 27 second-tier games.

Gonzalez has shown over the past 12 months that he’s a cut above, with a number of strings on his bow including great movement, pace, accelleration and an eye for goal all helping him get his club back into the German top flight.

Signing him would be a tall order, given just how many sides are reported to be after his services, but could the lure of playing in the Premier League under one of the best coaches in world football – a fellow Argentine too – prove tempting?
