Manchester United have reportedly joined West Ham United in the race for Croatia international Josip Juranovic.

Last week,  reported that West Ham were ‘impressed’ by the Celtic and Croatia full-back.

The outlet claimed David Moyes’ side could make a move depending on Bayer Leverkusen’s interest in Vladimir Coufal.

Meanwhile,  claimed the Hoops could be willing to sell the 27-year-old for £10million or more.

Juranovic has enjoyed a sensational World Cup for his nation, helping them to the latter stages once again.

‘Look at his energy’

On Friday, the reported Red Devils and Hammers target helped Croatia overcome Brazil in the tournament.

Juranovic was superb defensively and offensively, with the Selecao struggling to keep a lid on him.

The BBC Match of the Day pundits loved what they saw from the ‘sensational‘ high-flying defender.

Jurgen Klinsmann said, as per : “He is basically telling Vinicius Jnr, ‘I’m in charge, I’m the boss here’.

“It’s a whole mental approach. I’m going to go down the wing and I don’t care about you.

“You might be the best winger in the World Cup but I’m going to go and maybe I’m going to score.”

Meanwhile, Alex Scott said: “He’s not sitting back worrying about the Brazilians and their overload down his side.

“He’s saying, actually I’m going to make you worry about me. I’m going to drive forward and get into spaces when I can.

“Look at his energy just to get forward. He’s been doing it for the whole 45 minutes. Pass and go again, and go at speed, driving into space. I just absolutely love it.

“This is what we’re talking about: attacking right-backs being brave on the ball. He’s just been quality the whole half.”

Not an easy transfer for Manchester United and West Ham

Juranovic only joined Celtic in 2021, and his contract at Parkhead runs until 2026.

This means the Hoops’ hand is strong in any negotiations that may take place over the coming weeks.

In addition, Juranovic will reportedly hold fresh talks with Celtic over a new deal after the World Cup ().

This suggests he’s not in any rush to leave, and could make negotiations tougher for the likes of Manchester United and West Ham.
