Report: Manchester City star will ‘consider his options’ this summer
that Man City star Nathan Ake will ‘consider his options’ this summer after just one season with the Premier League leaders – having struggled for game time since returning from injury.
Ake, 26, joined Manchester City from Bournemouth after the Cherries were relegated last summer – for a fee of £39million . But after just nine appearances in all competitions, Ake suffered a long-term hamstring injury.
It kept the Netherlands international out from December, until April. Since then, he has been on the fringes of the City side – starting two of the four Premier League games he has been available for. But he is fourth choice.
The signing of Ruben Dias has pushed him down the pecking order, behind John Stones, Aymeric Laporte and the Portuguese rock. For that reason, it is claimed in his home country that he will consider a summer exit.

TBR’s view – City need to keep Ake, if they can
The Dutch defender is the perfect cover for City. From a selfish point of view, having Ake on the books is crucial with City continually fighting on four fronts both domestically and in Europe – and potentially the Club World Cup.
But from the player’s viewpoint, a move is needed. It is a crucial moment in his career, in which he will need to be playing to continue to prove that his huge potential is not just, potential. He needs to show that it is proven quality.
At City, he clearly won’t have the game time or momentum to do that. A move is needed.
