Manchester City have wasted no time in strengthening their attacking options, with the  reporting that they have agreed a deal for wonder-kid Slobodan Tedic.

The 19-year-old Serbian striker has already netted 3 goals in 4 games in Europa League qualifying this season. Currently playing his football at FK Čukarički in Serbia, he certainly has a bright future ahead of him having already made 49 senior appearances despite his young age.

With the deal reported to be worth €3m, he will officially sign in January but will be immediately loaned back to the Serbian side for the remainder of the season.

The move is a big statement of intent for the Premier League champions, as they are continuing to invest in exciting youth players. This could be the first of many early moves ahead of the January transfer window. City still have the looming threat of a transfer ban to contend with. By getting their deals done early they could get ahead of any possible forthcoming ban that is a result of pending FIFA investigations.

Nenand Mirosavljevic, sporting director at FK Čukarički, told Serbian publication that, when City got in touch, the club “easily and quickly agreed”.

While many sides would be frustrated to lose a hot prospect for the future, Mirosavljevic is undaunted and in fact enthusiastic: “This is a confirmation of our good work, but also the best possible marketing for Čukarički”, the director continued.

Whether the youngster, capped 19 times by Serbia’s youth teams, makes an impression at the Etihad remains to be seen but the move definitely shows that City aren’t willing to rest on their laurels and are intent on dynasty.
