Report: Lyon considering move for Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi
Arsenal midfielder, Matteo Guendouzi, is said to be open to a move to France after it emerged that Lyon are considering signing the Gunners star as a replacement to Houssem Aouar.
According to a it is believed Lyon are keen on signing Guendouzi. The report, which runs quotes from Canal + journalist, Felix Herve, suggests the French giants have marked Guendouzi out as their main target if current star midfielder Aouar does leave.

Incidentally, Aouar has been with a move to The Emirates. That, then, could well perk Mikel Arteta’s interest in doing a deal if a potential swap is on the cards.
However, there could be a sticking point in any deal. The claims Guendouzi will only move to Lyon to play Champions League football.
The Frenchman has been frozen out by Mikel Arteta ever since a bust-up following the Gunners’ game at Brighton last month. He is, then, widely expected to leave this summer after being left out.

What a time for something like this to come along. Houssem Aouar is one of the most in-demand midfielders in Europe and this could well give the Gunners a huge lift in their pursuit of the classy Lyon man.

Offering Guendouzi for Aouar makes perfect sense. Of course, Lyon may want to fetch a big fee for their man and then bring Guendouzi in separately.
However, if ever there was a time for Arsenal to try their luck, it’s now. Aouar would be a superb addition for Mikel Arteta and would more than fill the void left by Guendouzi.
