Report: Luka Modric could help Arsenal keep Martin Odegaard
Luka Modric could boost Arsenal’s hopes of bringing Martin Odegaard back for a second loan spell, that the midfielder signing a new deal would mean that the Norwegian would not be needed next season.
The Gunners are hoping to keep Odegaard beyond this season. There have been times when the 22-year-old has looked a real class act for Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, that Los Blancos are not interested in selling him permanently. And they are not yet sure whether he will be allowed to leave on loan.
It is claimed that Odegaard’s future could depend on whether Zinedine Zidane and Modric are at the Bernabeu next year.

Odegaard had struggled for game-time under Zidane. Modric meanwhile, signing a new contract would reportedly leave the youngster on the periphery of the squad.
So should the pair stay, Odegaard may be available for loan once again.
TBR View: Loan may be blessing in disguise for Arsenal
There have been times since his arrival where Odegaard has seemingly put himself at the top of many fans’ wish lists for this summer.
Some of his performances have been outstanding. However, he has also been less impressive at times.
So a loan could actually prove to be a blessing in disguise for Arteta’s side. If he struggles over a much longer period, the Gunners may be pleased that they have not committed to signing him permanently.
Of course, that may not be ideal if he steps up next year and sees his value increase significantly. But overall, a loan may be a shrewd move for all concerned.
However, Arsenal’s hopes seemingly hinge on what the future holds for Zidane and Modric.
