Report; Liverpool working on loan-to-buy deal for Schalke defender Ozan Kabak
that Liverpool are working on a loan-to-buy deal for Schalke defender Ozan Kabak – but face a race against time to secure the 20-year-old Turkey international before the deadline.
Kabak, 20, has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool for quite some time – with Jurgen Klopp renowned for looking at Bundesliga talent. It is believed he is rated in the region of £22million (), but Liverpool want a loan deal.
The report claims Liverpool are interested in Kabak and are ready to pay a £2.5million loan fee, with a view to a permanent deal in the summer. However, the sticking point remains over whether Schalke can get in a replacement for Kabak.
Indeed, that replacement has been identified – but it remains to be seen if they can get a deal done, with Germany’s deadline coming around at 5pm. The Mail claims Newcastle have also looked at Kabak, but he proved too expensive.

TBR’s view – Kabak is the ideal Liverpool centre-back
The Turkish ace is excellent with the ball at his feet, but combines that with a bit of throwback style of play to an old-fashioned centre-back in that he is strong in the air and ready to throw his body on the line when needed.
At the tender age of 20, he could be a brilliant addition for Liverpool if they can secure a move. It is believed that the potential signing of Kabak will not alter Liverpool’s move to land Ben Davies from Preston for a bargain £2million.
