Report: Liverpool will let Xherdan Shaqiri leave if huge eight-figure price tag is met

that Jurgen Klopp will sanction the sale of Xherdan Shaqiri this summer if interested parties table offers worth a whopping £28million – more than double what they paid for the Swiss star in 2018.

in the summer of 2018 that Liverpool had activated 28-year-old Shaqiri’s release clause to lure him to Anfield from relegated Stoke City – which was worth just £13million.

It is has been a decent move for both Shaqiri and Liverpool. In glimpses, the former Bayern Munich star has shined – having a hand in 12 goals in 30 outings during his first season, and providing a crucial assist in the 4-0 comeback against Barcelona.

But this time around, he has played just 10 times and scored only one goal. Shaqiri as one of six players who could leave in the summer, and now the Echo states Liverpool would sell for more than double the fee they paid for him.

TBR’s view – Shaqiri a top player, but £28m is very expensive

Especially for a player that managed just 10 games last season. Shaqiri is capable of magic, renowned for creating something out of nothing – and more than capable of curling a free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards out.

Both-footed, an eye for goal but also able to create, Shaqiri is proven in the Premier League and a top player. But to expect that amount of money is optimistic for a player that is on the fringes at Liverpool. The Reds need to reduce their asking price.
