Report: Liverpool weigh up move for 11-assist midfielder who’s got three year left on his contract
Liverpool are reportedly interested in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic during this summer’s transfer window.
claims that Liverpool are weighing up making a bid for the 26-year-old.
The Reds may reportedly up their interest in the Serbia internatonal after scouting him for weeks. However, he does still have three years remaining on his contract with Italian top-flight club Lazio.
Unfortunately, Georginio Wijnaldum waved goodbye to Liverpool this summer after a superb spell at Anfield.
His exit leaves a sizeable hole in the centre of the park.
Milinkovic-Savic, who is a key player for Serie A club Lazio, has just enjoyed a great individual campaign.
He scored eight goals and supplied 11 assists in 41 games across all competitions in the 2020/21 season.

Milinkovic-Savic may be perfect for Liverpool
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has implemented a system that demands hard work from his players, so any new signings need to match that. For example, Wijnaldum was the epitome of that engine in the midfield.
Milinkovic-Savic looked absolutely perfect for the current Liverpool philosophy.
The central midfielder plays a box-to-box role where he’s offensively a threat, as well as a physical presence to do the defensive of his game. Additionally, he’s got great stamina that allows him to keep going for 90 minutes.
It’s unclear on how much the Lazio man would cost, but surely it won’t be cheap. He matches the profile Liverpool need.
