Report: Liverpool want Erling Haaland but Real Madrid have money ready

Liverpool are keen on signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund but are now facing up to the prospect of a serious challenge from Real Madrid for the young striker.

Haaland is one of the most in-demand talents on the planet. He is expected to spark a transfer scramble next summer, with reports a few weeks back claiming Liverpool are in that scramble.

suggest Haaland could leave the German side for less than £70m due to the clauses in his contract.

However, any hopes Liverpool had of landing Haaland ahead of the rest could be scuppered by Real Madrid. claim that the La Liga giants have planned carefully to try and sign Haaland.

It’s suggested by that both Haaland and Kylian Mbappe could move to the Bernabeu. The PSG striker is set to be available on a free, while Haaland is set to be cheaper than ever.

Haaland is wanted around Europe it seems. Pep Guardiola has spoken of his admiration for the striker, too, just this year.

TBR’s View: Haaland move will come down to wages

With Mino Raiola in charge of this move, it will essentially come down to who pays the money. While Haaland might harbour certain ambitions, his next move will be led by Raiola.

Madrid, it seems, have been positioning themselves for this for some time now and have, for once, carefully planned their finances.

If Liverpool did land Haaland, it would be a huge statement of intent from FSG. He’s a once in a generation player, and the thought of him in the attack with Salah and Mane is something for Reds fans to gush over.
