Report: Liverpool to make call over Rhian Brewster after Merseyside Derby

Liverpool will reportedly make a definitive decision about Rhian Brewster’s future after the game with Everton in the FA Cup.

, Reds officials will wait to get the second Merseyside Derby of the season out of the way, before making a decision on the England U21 star.

It is thought the club would be willing to let the talented teenager leave on loan in January if a team would be able to offer him regular game time.

Brewster has made just two first-team appearances so far this term, both coming in the Carabao Cup.

He featured against MK Dons and Arsenal, but missed out against Aston Villa due to an ankle injury.

It is possible Jurgen Klopp will give him some involvement against Everton on January 5 to perhaps give him one final chance to impress.

Swansea City are one of a host of teams that have been linked with Brewster.

TBR’s view – Liverpool should allow the loan

Liverpool have to let Brewster depart next month, especially with Takumi Minamino joining the club.

Opportunities will be even harder to come by with the Japanese international in the picture, and it’s important for him to be experiencing first-team football.

Brewster had knee and ankle surgery in 2018 and was sidelined for over a year, so the club have to give him the chance to go out and play or risk his development slowing down.
