Report: Liverpool to cut Taiwo Awoniyi’s loan short ahead of fresh move
Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi is reportedly set to see his loan spell with German club Mainz cut short.
l, the Reds could end the forward’s loan with the Bundesliga outfit in January due to a lack of minutes and also due to mounting interest elsewhere.
It is understood that Jurgen Klopp’s team have the option to rip up the 22-year-old’s loan midway through the season and a queue is forming to try take him on loan for the second half of the campaign.
The report details that Olympiacos, Montpellier, Brest, Nikes, Besiktas, Leganes and Real Mallorca are all interested.
Liverpool are exited to hold meetings with interested clubs in the coming days to try resolve his future, but he would prefer ideally to stay in Germany.

TBR’s View:
Awoniyi has made just six senior appearances this season so far for Mainz and has failed to complete more than a half in any of those matches.
The Nigerian striker could definitely do with a fresh move to help regain his confidence and he’s shown in the past he can be a decent goalscorer.
He’s scored 21 goals in 47 games for Belgian top-flight club Royal Excel Mouscron during two different loan spells with them away from Liverpool.
