Report: Liverpool reject opening bid from PL club for ‘incredible’ Reds player

Liverpool have reportedly rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for Neco Williams.

According to the , the Reds turned down the Premier League newcomers’ opening bid for the Welshman.

Journalist Alan Nixon, writing on , claims Forest offered £11million plus £4million in add-ons.

But Liverpool apparently want “a larger guaranteed sum” for Williams.

The Anfield outfit is to be looking for around £20million to let the 21-year-old leave permanently.

Williams is a player in demand after his impressive loan spell at Fulham in the second half of last season.

The Liverpool ace is reportedly on the radar of Forest, Southampton, PSV Eindhoven and the Cottagers.

With Calvin Ramsay joining Liverpool this summer, Williams has slipped further down the Anfield pecking order.

Meanwhile, Forest are looking to bolster their ranks after returning to the English top flight after 23 years.

Williams would be a great shout for them, an incredibly talented young player with plenty of experience behind him.

The Wales international has Liverpool appearances, 15 Fulham outings and 21 Dragons caps under his belt.

Williams has been described by James Milner as “incredible“.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Danny Gabbidon once deemed him “absolutely outstanding”.

However, it is hard for any young right-back to get past Trent Alexander-Arnold in the Liverpool XI.

Williams is best off going somewhere he will play every week, especially with the World Cup on the horizon.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool will resolutely hold out for £15million, or compromise with Steve Cooper’s newly-promoted side.
