Liverpool readying £87m bid for ‘perfect’ Jude Bellingham alternative – report
Liverpool have set their sights on Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, according to AS.
The Reds are in need of bolstering their midfield ranks this summer amid ageing legs and expiring contracts.
Plenty of midfielders have been linked with Liverpool, particularly since they pulled the plug on a move for Jude Bellingham.

Jurgen Klopp reportedly wants quantity as well as quantity, and spending £120million-plus on Bellingham wouldn’t allow for that.
Now, according to , Liverpool are apparently plotting a big-money move for Guimaraes, who has been sensational for Newcastle.
The Spanish outlet claims the Reds are willing to spend €100million (around £87million) to land the Brazil international.
Apparently, Liverpool see him as a ‘perfect option for the team’.
As well as the Reds, the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are apparently circling around Guimaraes.
However, Newcastle are reportedly preparing a ‘world-star’ contract to keep the 25-year-old at St James’ Park.
Our view
Admittedly, Liverpool would be landing an amazing – and Premier League-proven – player in Guimaraes.
He has been a revelation at Newcastle and would no doubt be a great addition to the world’s best teams.
In addition, Guimaraes has previously played alongside Liverpool midfielder Fabinho while on Selecao duty.
However, £87million does seem like a huge sum for the Reds to spend, especially if they’re also targeting Alexis Mac Allister.

recently claimed Brighton want no less than £70million for the 2022 World Cup winner.
Furthermore, Guimaraes is currently at one of the richest clubs in the world and could be in the Champions League next season.
He also has the opportunity to become a Newcastle legend if he can help them to silverware in the coming years.
Put simply, Guimaraes may have no need – or desire – to go anywhere else for the time being.
