Report: Liverpool, Man City and Man United keen on Lyon starlet Mathis Rayan Cherki
Lyon starlet Mathis Rayan Cherki – sometimes known as just Rayan Cherki – is being pursued by three Premier League clubs.
, Liverpool have joined Manchester City and Manchester United in the hunt for Cherki. Lyon are now struggling to hold onto their prize asset, despite him recently signing a contract extension until summer 2022.
Cherki is an exciting young talent, who operates on the wing or as a number 10. The 16-year-old has already played three first-team games for Lyon, coming off the bench twice in Ligue 1 and once in the Champions League.

His debut was a seven-minute cameo against Dijon in October before getting opportunities from the bench against Marseille and Zenit St Petersburg last month. The France youth international has also scored in every UEFA Youth League match this season.
Lyon want to hold onto Cherki but know that they face a losing battle. As well as Liverpool and the two Manchester clubs, a host of European sides also want the teenager. Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax and Real Madrid are all in the hunt.
TBR’s view
Cherki looks like a special talent for the future. At youth level, he has been consistently performing and he is already getting some opportunities with Lyon’s first-team.
It looks like he will be on the move shortly with Lyon struggling to keep him. This is why Liverpool, Man City and Man United need to act quickly if they want to win this race.
