Report: Liverpool join Tottenham in race for 18-year-old speedster who’s in the ‘elite upper bracket’ in Europe
Liverpool have reportedly joined the likes of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Calvin Ramsay.
The claims the Reds have the Aberdeen right-back on their radar for the summer.
Meanwhile, reported about Spurs’ interest in Ramsay back in February.
They claimed Tottenham have been keeping close tabs on the 18-year-old.
Liverpool and Spurs are far from the only clubs apparently eyeing Ramsay, however.
As well as the Reds and the Lilywhites, the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle are also in pursuit.
Aberdeen are also understood to have knocked back bids from Leeds, Leicester and Bologna.
Ramsay has enjoyed a superb breakthrough season at the Scottish top-flight club.
He only made his senior debut in March 2021, in a Scottish Cup trip to Dumbarton.
Since then, however, he has kicked on massively, and is now seemingly attracting glances from top clubs.
He has featured 31 times for Aberdeen this term, both domestically and in the Europa Conference League.
Ramsay has registered an impressive nine assists for his club, as well as one goal.

Goal.com spoke highly of Ramsay’s key characteristics and why so many clubs are keeping tabs on him.
They wrote: “Ramsay’s most obvious qualities are those he provides going forwards.
“His distribution is excellent over a variety of ranges, he is a strong set-piece taker and his willingness to attack opposing defenders is more reminiscent of a winger than a full-back.
“He is also blessed with excellent ability on both feet. This was amply demonstrated as Aberdeen posted a tweet of him scoring a stunning 30-yard strike with his weaker left foot while playing for the youth team.
“A strong runner, he looks every inch the modern full-back, with a style reminiscent of those at the very top of the game, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold or Kyle Walker.
“There is a long way to go before he hits such heights, but the intent and desire is there.”
Goal.com also quotes Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack as saying: “There’s not many right-backs like him at that age doing what he does when you look at all the data.
“All these clubs look at the same systems. They will have seen the same things that we have: that he’s in the elite upper bracket for a young right-back in Europe.
“He’s right up there across Europe, and they are seeing that.”
