Report: Liverpool join Rodgers in courting £43m Euro 2020 star Arsenal are rumoured to admire
Liverpool and Leicester City have joined Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Italy winger Domenico Berardi, according to .
Berardi is lighting up Euro 2020 as one of the stars of Roberto Mancini’s side after delivering a stellar Serie A season. The Sassuolo captain struck 17 goals and eight assists in under now-departed coach Roberto De Zerbi.
His creativity has flowed into the European Championship with back-to-back assists to help secure a place in the knockout phase. Turkey’s Merih Demiral could only divert Berardi’s cross into the net before he blitzed Switzerland.

Berardi brought down Manuel Locatelli’s pass beautifully on the wing before sprinting to the byline. His cutback was then perfectly placed for Locatelli to tap home and saw that he received the adulation of the Italian press.
The 26-year-old’s efforts have not gone unnoticed across Europe, though. Leicester and Liverpool are now assessing moves to sign Berardi in the summer transfer market, with his future potentially abroad and in England.
Berardi has interest from the Serie A, however, with Juventus also keen. But the Turin giants – or any other Italian outfit – would be unable to afford Sassuolo’s asking price.
It is for this reason that Berardi could be set for a move to the Premier League once Euro 2020 is over. But Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers could still face competition from Arsenal and Tottenham.
The north London rivals approached Sassuolo for more information on Berardi’s situation recently, per . But were informed he would cost €50million (£43m).
Liverpool can land Salah heir in Arsenal target Berardi
Berardi will not seal a move to Arsenal or Liverpool based solely on his efforts at Euro 2020. But the Sassuolo captain is going a long way to proving what he can bring to the Premier League by building on his Serie A exploits.
He was one of the Italian top-flight’s biggest stars last season and has carried that form into the national side. His glitzy, darting runs cause defences a raft of issues and the gem has the end product to match.
Klopp spending £43m to take the Arsenal target to Liverpool, then, could see the German land his Mohamed Salah heir. The Egyptian is under contract until 2023 but he and the club have flirted with leaving.
Back in March, Salah told ‘Why not? No one knows’ when asked if he could leave Liverpool for Spain. And also cited the Reds as setting Paris Saint-Germain a €80m (£69m) asking price amid interest from France.
