Report: Liverpool have no plans to offer Gini Wijnaldum a new deal, player could be sold
Liverpool could allow Gini Wijnaldum to leave the club with reporting there are no plans to extend his existing contract.
The Holland international will see his contract expire next summer and talks haven’t been forthcoming over fresh terms.
Wijnaldum cost Liverpool £25 million from Newcastle United in 2016 and since checking in he’s proved an astute addition to the squad.

The 29-year-old has helped Liverpool to a Champions League title, a Premier League crown and also to the Club Word Championship during his time at Anfield.
In 188 games for the club, he has scored 19 goals and registered 16 assists, proving a neat and tidy addition to Jurgen Klopp’s engine room.
Liverpool’s reported interest in Thiago Alcantara has perhaps put contract talks on the backburner, although it seems unlikely the man with 61 caps will earn a new deal.
With the contract situation in the minds of the club, it is also thought Liverpool might choose to sell the midfielder rather than lose him on a free.
Transfer guru Michael Edwards is savvy when it comes to dealings and it wouldn’t make much sense to allow a player of Wijnaldum’s quality to walk away for nothing.
TBR View – Dutchman has every right to feel undervalued
Wijnaldum perhaps isn’t the most glamorous player within the Liverpool ranks but he’s been a steady performer for the club.
Very rarely do his performances drop below a 7/10 and his departure would perhaps upset some supporters.

Signing Thiago would certainly soften the blow and the nature of the beast suggests something, or rather someone, will have to give.
That looks like being Wijnaldum and even at 29, he will still feel he has something to offer – possibly even in the Premier League.
The writing looks to be on the wall for the Liverpool maestro and it’ll be interesting to see what happens before the window slams shut in October.
