Report: Liverpool have made an offer to sign Memphis Depay

that Liverpool have made an offer to sign Memphis Depay from Lyon this summer but are not the only side interested in the experienced Dutch attacker – with Barcelona and Juventus also tabling bids.

Depay, 27, is out of contract at Lyon this summer and is expected to leave the French side on a free transfer. He has been in stunning form for Lyon this season – having a hand in 24 goals during his 31 league and cup outings, scoring 15 himself.

Also creating nine, Depay is now keen on a move and the report claims his preference is a move to play under his ex-Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman at Barcelona. But a move to the Nou Camp is not his only offer on the table.

Indeed, say Depay has offers from Liverpool and Juventus too – a player that has been linked with Liverpool in the past. In 2015, Brendan Rodgers told – as manager of Liverpool – that: “The kid is a very talented player.”

TBR’s view – Depay would be a wonderful signing

Especially on a free. You would argue that perhaps 12, or 18 months ago – signing Depay would have been impossible as the Frenchman would not have wanted to sit on the bench behind Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

But the trio have not been anywhere near their best this season and if Liverpool sign Depay, he would surely be first choice. On a free transfer, it is an absolute no-brainer despite his Manchester United past – he would be a brilliant signing.
