Report: Liverpool have made a bid for Brazilian youngster Marcelo Pitaluga

Liverpool have reportedly made a bid to sign young Brazilian goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga.

, the Reds have tabled an offer for the 17-year-old starlet from Fluminense and have even offered his family a house.

The report does not state exactly how much Liverpool have put on the table, but there appears to be a strong chance the Premier League champions will get their man.

It is mentioned that although Fluminense are aware Pitaluga has great potential, they could be forced to sell due to a difficult economic situation.

Pitaluga has yet to even make a first-team appearance for the club, but that does not seem to be a deterrent for Liverpool.

Pitaluga is also said to hold a German passport, which would make any move to Europe for him easier.

Interestingly, the youngster has already met current Liverpool number one Alisson. The pair posed for a photo, along with Alisson’s brother and Fluminense number one Muriel, back in February.

TBR’s View – Alisson successor?

Liverpool have one of the world’s best in Alisson, but perhaps Pitaluga will sign for the Reds and become his compatriot’s heir at Anfield.

Pitaluga is still extremely young and he has plenty of developing to do before making his mark somewhere.

But if he does go to Liverpool, fans would certainly like to dream he’ll be the man to follow in Alisson’s footsteps.
