Liverpool have enquired about ‘world-class’ £80m player who Cristiano Ronaldo wants in Saudi Arabia
Liverpool are yet to make a signing this summer but it at least looks like a few enquiries are now going in from the Reds.
Many a Liverpool fan expected a busy summer with Arne Slot taking over from Jurgen Klopp but as yet, it’s all been a bit too quiet.
However, with just three weeks of the window left, Liverpool are expected to ramp up their transfer activity now and make an attempt to bring in a few new players.
As we all know, a new number six is top of the agenda and Martin Zubimendi is the player being linked with Liverpool in recent days.
But if it’s not to be Zubimendi, it looks like Liverpool have been making enquiries for others, including one top Premier League midfielder.
Liverpool have asked about signing Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle
According to a report from , Liverpool have been looking at a number of midfield players and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes is on their list.
It’s claimed by GMS that the Reds asked Newcastle about the Brazilian earlier in the window and at the time, were flatly rejected.

However, it’s suggested that those close to Bruno are not completely ruling out a move for the midfielder late in the window.
The likes of Man City are also keen on Guimaraes and they value him around the £80m mark. Newcastle, of course, want closer to £100m for their star man.
Guimaraes is a man in-demand in general and reports earlier in the window suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo wanted him over in Saudi Arabia.
For now, it looks like Newcastle will fight tooth and nail to keep him. Likewise, they face a similar battle with Anthony Gordon and Liverpool’s interest there.
But with Eddie Howe saying just this week that a sale might be needed to satisfy PSR, Newcastle fans will very much be on edge until the end of August.
