Report: Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian on Real Betis’ radar

Liverpool number two Adrian is reportedly on the radar of Spanish club Real Betis.

, the 33-year-old could be an option for the Seville-based outfit, who are looking for adequate backup for Joel Robles next term.

Their top choice is Antonio Adán of Atletico Madrid, but Liverpool’s free summer signing is supposedly being considered.

Estadio claim Adrian’s current Liverpool contract is for two years, with the second year being optional.

Adrian has proven to be a fantastic signing for the Reds and is hugely popular with the Anfield faithful.

When Alisson got injured in the first Premier League game of the season against Norwich City, some fans were concerned.

The Brazilian had an incredible 2018/19 and was seemingly going to be a major loss for the team.

But Adrian more than stepped up to the plate, and was the hero in the penalty shootout against Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup back in August.

TBR’s view – Adrian ideal for Liverpool

Reds officials surely won’t want to lose Adrian this summer having shown how capable he is in Alisson’s absence.

The star is the ideal age for a backup goalkeeper, and can come in and do a good job in cup games and the odd league match.

There is little need for Liverpool to go out and find a replacement, unless Adrian pushes for a romantic return to the club he started his professional career at.

He seems to feel appreciated at the club and so it could take a big effort from Betis to prise him away in the summer.
