Report: Liverpool face AC Milan battle for Schalke defender Ozan Kabak
Liverpool will have to beat off competition from AC Milan if they are to land Schalke 04 defender, Ozan Kabak, as a potential January replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
The claimed this week that the Reds were eyeing a £20m+ move for the Turkish defender, who has been in fine form for the German outfit over the last 12 months.

However, it looks like Liverpool won’t have it all their own way, with claiming that Milan are also keen on adding Kabak to their ranks if they can do a deal.
Liverpool have a rich history with Milan from the Champions League. The two clubs played out the famous 05 final in Istanbul, before Milan ran out victors in a replay of that game in 2007.

Jurgen Klopp is desperate to add to his squad in January after injuries have ravaged his team. Van Dijk is out all season, while Joel Matip continues to struggle and Fabinho came off injured last night.
Kabak is said to be among a number of names the club are considering when the January window rolls around.

Liverpool would hope that the signing of Kabak would be a relatively simple one but Milan’s interest puts a bit of a spanner in the works.
The Italians are still a giant of the game in world football and still offer a lure that few clubs can. It will, then, be interesting to see if Liverpool can beat out their old rivals.
Of course, in terms of success, Liverpool can offer the chance of more immediate trophies and winning for Kabak. It will, then, depend on what the player values more and where he sees his career going.
