Report: Liverpool eye move for Arsenal reject Donyell Malen

claim that Liverpool are interested in completing the signing of PSV striker Donyell Malen during the summer transfer window.

The former Arsenal youth team star has been in fantastic form for the Eredivisie outfit during 2020/21. He has scored 23 goals and claimed eight assists in 39 appearances.

Malen was a goal machine for the development squads during his time at the Emirates Stadium. In 2017, however, he was sold for just without making a first-team outing.

The seven-cap striker has set about proving the Gunners wrong in Holland. He has 51 goals in total from his 110 appearances and is one of the most feared marksmen in the country right now.

Liverpool will go in search of more quality during the summer transfer window. If this season has taught Jurgen Klopp anything, it’s that his squad depth simply hasn’t been good enough.

Injuries have struck at a frequent rate during 2020/21 for Liverpool. The players who have been asked to step up have been found wanting and the club must address that.

Malen is known for his strong dribbling skills and his electric pace which can cause chaos among defences. Crucially, he has developed a lethal streak when it comes to finishing, highlighted by an impressive goal-haul.

At 22, Malen still has his best years ahead of him. Having been tossed aside like an unwanted Christmas present by Arsenal, he’ll surely be keen to prove a point in England.

As a result, signing the PSV striker looks like a decent investment for Liverpool. He wouldn’t break the bank and could really compliment the current quota of forwards.

FSG must back Klopp during the summer window. The club’s title defence has been nothing short of a shambles and the club will want to roar back next season.

Malen would represent a decent signing to kick things off and bolster the attacking arsenal ahead of next season.
