The 34-year-old is now down the pecking order at Anfield. Despite deputising for Alisson Becker at times last season, most Liverpool fans were left with serious reservations about the stopper. Indeed, Caoimhin Kelleher has become the number two for the Reds this term.

A return to Real Betis has been mentioned, although there is nothing concrete in that just yet.

Adrian, despite his errors, would leave Liverpool as a Premier League winner. He also won the World Club Cup and UEFA Super Cup, ensuring he leaves England with a fine resume behind him.

You can say what you like about Adrian but the fact is that if he does leave, he’ll go with a Premier League winners medal in his pocket.

Yes, he’s not on the level of Alisson. But Adrian has had a good Premier League career, albeit it the best of it came with West Ham.
