Report: Liverpool agree to send Loris Karius to Wolves next season

that Liverpool have agreed to send goalkeeper Loris Karius to Wolverhampton Wanderers next season, after his loan spell at Besiktas had been cancelled and compensation for the rest of the season reached.

Karius, 26, has spent the last two seasons on loan at Besiktas after his last appearance for Liverpool came in the form of the Championa League final defeat to Real Madrid. Two enormous mistakes helped Real win 3-1 over Jurgen Klopp’s side.

That prompted the signing of Alisson from Roma, and Karius has since spent his time in Turkey. For Besiktas, Karius has managed just 14 clean sheets in 67 appearances – conceding 95 goals, such is the way of football in the SuperLig.

Now, the latest report claims Liverpool have agreed to send £25k-a-week () Karius to Wolves for next season on loan, where he will face Rui Patricio as competition between the sticks. It is now up to the player to either agree, or reject a move.

TBR’s view – Does Karius have a future at Liverpool?

No. Although he was a decent goalkeeper for Liverpool and has an excellent record in terms of stats – 22 clean sheets in 49 appearances – Karius will never recover from the mistakes he made in the 2018 Champions League final.

The fact he has been loaned to Wolves to be, more than likely, their second choice goalkeeper – says everything. He has a contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2022, but if he plays another game for the Reds, it will be a surprise.
