Report: Lenglet has two days to decide if he wants to join Tottenham

Clement Lenglet has two days to decide if he wants to join Tottenham Hotspur, that Barcelona expect the Frenchman to move to North London.

The Catalan giants would like to loan Lenglet out ahead of next season. He earns around £166,000-a-week at the Camp Nou. And they would be keen to move that off the bill.

Reports this week claimed that Tottenham and Roma were the last two teams in the race to sign the 27-year-old. However, the Giallorossi have backed away over his wage demands.

It was suggested that Spurs hoped to agree a deal in the coming days. And it now seems that the situation will come to a head, one way or another, this week.

that Lenglet has two days to make a decision on joining Spurs. And, crucially, Barcelona believe that the centre-back will indeed end up moving to Antonio Conte’s squad.

Tottenham fans may be slightly divided about the prospect of Lenglet joining. Obviously, a loan move is not ideal unless it is in the mould of the deals for Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski.

He has been a good servant for Barcelona. And he is a France international. Didier Deschamps has described the defender as ‘‘.

The good news is that it appears that Tottenham will soon have clarity. They can move on to other targets as they clearly want to have another centre-back through the door before the season starts.

Lenglet will not come cheap due to his wages. But a loan move could prove to be a very shrewd piece of business – if he decides to join Tottenham.

Barcelona think he is going.
