It would be a gamble to go for the 28-year-old. Whilst he possesses plenty of physical attributes, and has lots of experience, the Angolan has not been at his best recently. He was not a regular starter in Serie A last season. The defender managed just 18 league appearances, seven of which came from the bench.
Maguire would leave big boots to fill at the King Power Stadium. There isn’t much to suggest that Bastos is capable of filling them. If the Foxes are serious about pushing for European qualification, they should show more ambition when it comes to targeting potential replacements for Maguire.
