Report: Leeds’s Barry Douglas expected at Blackburn training ground today
Barry Douglas looks to be getting closer to sealing a move away from Leeds United, that the left-back is expected at Blackburn Rovers’s training ground today.
Douglas always looked set to be one of the most likely players to leave Elland Road before the window shut.
The 31-year-old is yet to feature for the Whites in the Premier League. He has unfortunately been unable to force his way into Marcelo Bielsa’s match day squads in the top flight.
And it now appears that he is set to spend the rest of the season out on loan. , Blackburn are on the verge of signing Douglas.
In fact, the report claims that he is expected to arrive at their training ground today to finalise a move.
It looks to be an incredibly smart move for Blackburn. Douglas – who earns £10,000-a-week, – has now won promotion out of the Championship with two different sides, having also gone up with Wolves previously.
It is a shame that he has not got his chance in the top flight with Leeds. But he may have decided that he would be better off moving on if he is not going to feature.
However, there will certainly be a lot of Whites supporters who will be delighted if Douglas can impress at Ewood Park and help them build on their promising start to the campaign.
