Report: Leeds want to replace Jack Clarke with another loan signing

, Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa will look to replace Jack Clarke with another loan signing in January with the Tottenham Hotspur starlet set to be sent back to his parent club.

Clarke has endured a tough time since returning to Leeds after completing his £10 million switch to Spurs in the summer. He is yet to feature in the Championship and has often been left out of the match day squad.

Leeds have six loanees on their books, and Clarke has often been the man to miss out. that he is set to return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January.

And the report adds that the Whites plan to bring another loanee to Elland Road as they look to keep themselves in the promotion hunt. It is noted that Clarke’s return will free up £10,000-a-week on the Leeds wage bill.

It is not clear what position Bielsa is targeting strengthening. But given the importance of wide players to his side, it would be no surprise if he wanted to replace Clarke with another winger.

Of course, some of the supporters will be hoping that another centre-back is brought in. They do appear to have a lack of options at the back, especially with Liam Cooper now sidelined.

How Leeds fare while Cooper is absent could surely influence what Leeds do in January. If they struggle defensively, then perhaps Bielsa may be more tempted to sign another option in that area of the field.

But any future loan targets may be wary of replacing Clarke. Unless Leeds convert any of their other loans into permanent deals in January, Bielsa will still have to leave one out.
