During his time with the Sky Blues, boss Mark Robins described him as ‘absolutely outstanding’.

He is unproven in the Premier League, having only made one appearance. And that came in 2016. Most of his games have come in the second tier.

Leeds have been linked with Clarke-Salter in the past. that the Whites wanted the centre-back ahead of Marcelo Bielsa’s second campaign at Elland Road.

Leeds want Jake Clarke-Salter, but fans may have reservations about move

Clarke-Salter has had mixed fortunes during his various loan spells. It may well be a shrewd move if he is available on a free transfer.

But the fans may have reservations. If they stay up, it would potentially be an underwhelming piece of business given that they already have three international centre-backs.

And if they are relegated, the Leeds supporters will surely want to see the likes of Charlie Cresswell and Leo Hjelde given more opportunities to impress.
