Report: Leeds United to raid Middlesbrough for Britt Assombalonga
Leeds United are set to try and bolster their attacking ranks by moving for Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga,
The Whites are desperate for a striker to come in this month, having seen Eddie Nketiah return to Arsenal.
Assombalonga has been at the Riverside Stadium since 2017, signing from Nottingham Forest for £15 million

The 27-year-old is a proven goalscorer in the Championship. In 175 games in the second tier, he has scored 65 goals making him a feared marksman.
Leeds were beaten 1-0 by QPR on Saturday to make it three games without a win in the league.
They have seen the chasing pack close the gap in recent weeks and Marcelo Bielsa desperately needs reinforcements.
Assombalonga hasn’t played since a 1-0 win over Charlton in early December due to an injury.
The Congolese international earns £35,000-a-week at the Riverside. If Leeds could secure a player with a proven track record, however, it could set them back on track.
TBR View – Assombalonga is the man to take Leeds to the Promised Land
When it comes to scoring goals at Championship level in the last five years, there aren’t many players better than Assombalonga.

He would have scored a lot more were it not for injuries and that will be the one element of risk in any deal for Leeds.
His record in front of goal, however, is class and he’s exactly the sort of signing that should delight supporters.
Bielsa needs a man to come in and share the goalscoring mantle with Patrick Bamford. Assomablonga can play up top on his own or as a two and his lethal instinct could lead Leeds to the Premier League.
