that Leeds have been told to pay a whopping £30m to sign Hertha Berlin star Matheus Cunha this summer. The Brazilian ace has thrown himself onto the Leeds radar after an excellent season in German football. But Hertha want premium price for their playmaker.
Cunha, 22, enjoyed a stellar 2020-21 campaign. Playing 28 times in all competitions for Hertha last term, he had a hand in 16 goals – scoring eight and creating eight. Little surprise, then, that Leeds want him. It has been previously said that the club have held talks with Cunha over a move.
Now, the Express state that Hertha are playing hard ball. They want a figure of £30million, which would make Cunha a club-record signing for Leeds. Talks have not been held since initial discussions and it remains to be seen if Leeds want to pay that much – or least try to reduce the price tag.

Is Cunha worth £30m and should Leeds pay it?
Two questions. Answering the first, yes, without a doubt, Cunha is worth £30million. To have a hand in 16 goals in just 28 games for a side that finished way down in 14th out of 18, is stunning. Factor in that he is just 22, Cunha is a bargain at £30million. A no-brainer.
That is, of course, if you are going to play Cunha regularly and see him as a starter. At Hertha, he was a left winger mostly but more than capable of playing in the 10. Leeds need an attacking midfielder, with Rodrigo and Tyler Roberts taking turns throughout. Cunha would be ideal.
