And it is suggested by the Star that a move to Leeds appeals to the Spaniard. The Daily Star notes that the Whites plan to target the 29-year-old no matter what division they find themselves in next term.

It is also suggested that Brighton are not willing to sell Leeds loanee Ben White.

TBR View – Ayala on free transfer could be shrewd business, but Leeds must be wary

Ayala has been an excellent performer in the Championship for a number of years. Thus, it is difficult to be too critical of Leeds making a move to sign him on a free transfer.

But Ayala will have big shoes to fill if White returns to Brighton. The youngster has been a revelation this season. And replacing him is going to be an incredibly difficult task.

And it must be noted that Ayala has not played since New’s Year Day due to injury. So there is obviously some additional risk attached to a potential move.
