Report: Leeds target Dan James open to Brighton loan in January

Leeds United may be facing an uphill battle if they hope to sign Daniel James on loan, that he has told friends that he would be open to joining Brighton and Hove Albion.

James has played a peripheral role for Manchester United so far this season. So it is little surprise that he is being linked with a potential January loan.

that Leeds could reignite their interest. And The Sun has also hinted that the Whites could be monitoring his situation ahead of next month.

However, that the Seagulls want the winger on loan. Graham Potter worked with the Wales international at Swansea before his Old Trafford switch.

And it is claimed that he has told some close to him that he would be open to the idea of working under Potter again.

TBR View: Not necessarily a defining blow for Leeds

Potter’s relationship with James could certainly leave Leeds as underdogs in January. However, Whites fans keen to see the 23-year-old at Elland Road may point out that that could decide little.

, James completed a medical and was ready to finalise a move to Leeds back in 2019. Ultimately, it fell through because Swansea decided not to sign it off.

The move may not have happened. But it does show that James was keen to play under Bielsa.

It must also be noted that James is keen to stay where he is and fight for his place.

So it may well be that any side that comes calling in January may be left disappointed.
