It may not surprise many Leeds fans that Casey could leave. He has been superb for the under-23s.

However, the Whites boast a fantastic amount of depth at the heart of their defence.

Marcelo Bielsa has Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente, Robin Koch and Pascal Struijk available to him. Luke Ayling can also feature in the middle.

Meanwhile, under-23 teammate Charlie Cresswell looks destined for a future first-team spot.

It is a shame. Bielsa suggested that he was surprised by how well Casey performed on his debut in the 2-0 win against Huddersfield in the Championship.

But a move looks to be best for all concerned.

Leeds will have their transfer kitty boosted as they look to improve their under-23 ranks following their promotion.

Blackpool meanwhile, will have landed an impressive youngster ahead of their return to the Championship.

And Casey can join a club where he is likely to be a key man.
