Report: Leeds starlet Cody Drameh in contention for England U21 call-up
Cody Drameh may still be awaiting the chance to make his first-team debut for Leeds United that he is understood to now be in contention for a future England U21 call-up.
Drameh is unquestionably one of the most exciting prospects coming through at Thorp Arch.
The 19-year-old . And he quickly established himself as a key part of Mark Jackson’s side.
His marauding bursts forward, his composure on the ball and his impeccable ability in one on one duels with wingers have all left Leeds fans tipping the teenager for an incredible future.
Unfortunately, he is battling for an opportunity in the position where Marcelo Bielsa has Luke Ayling.
Like so many, Ayling has been a revelation in the Premier League. So it is little surprise that Drameh goes into his second season with Leeds still awaiting an opportunity for the senior side.
But the hopes are high. And it seems that he may soon get the chance to step up a level on the international scene.
, Drameh is understood to be knocking on the door for a call-up to the England under-21 side.
Drameh has made one appearance for the under-20s. And crucially, it was Lee Carsley who was in charge when he came into the fold.
Carsley has since stepped up to the under-21 job after Aidy Boothroyd’s departure. But there is also one figure in that set-up Drameh may relish the chance to work with.

The man alongside Carsley in the under-21 fold knows a fair amount about what it takes for a young full-back to make the grade in the Premier League.
Getting the chance to work with Ashley Cole could be fantastic for Drameh. The former Arsenal and Chelsea man was unquestionably one of the world’s best in his position at his peak.
So it would be superb if Drameh did indeed earn that chance at some stage in the near future.
If he picks up where he left off last season, his maiden call-up may not take too long to come.
