Report: Leeds set sights on attack-minded talent with superb ability, ‘real asset’ to his club
Leeds United have set their sights on Oldham left-back Benny Couto, according to The Telegraph.
The outlet claims the Whites have the 18-year-old on their radar, while Wolves are also eyeing him.
In addition, The Telegraph claims Couto would be wanted back on loan for the season if he joins in January.
Leeds currently have a shortage of players at left-back.

Junior Firpo joined the Whites during the summer but Ezgjan Alioski left Elland Road.
When Firpo is unavailable, Marcelo Bielsa has had to use the likes of Stuart Dallas and Pascal Struijk at left-back.
Couto has broken into the Oldham first time this season and has already made 21 appearances for the Latics.
The Portugal-born teenager has 13 League Two appearances under his belt alongside one goal and two assists.
In October, Couto penned a new three-year deal at the club.
Manager Keith Curle has described him as a “” to the team after signing his new contract.
In the , he said Couto has “the attributes we need.
“His mentality is growing and growing and growing, his maturity level is growing, and the kid has got ability.”
One for the future, but Leeds need players for the present – TBR View
Couto is a very talented prospect who’s done well to become an established first-team player at just 18.
However, the jump from League Two to the Premier League is high.
Couto would likely start out in the Under-23s to begin with and, in time, get first-team chances.
It’s good to hear of Leeds reportedly eyeing players for the future, but Bielsa needs PL-ready reinforcements that can hit the ground running now.
